Myck Kabongo (@kabongofire, @lukusamusic), stage name “Lu-Kusa”, has always been one to beat the odds. Lu-Kusa means the voice of the people, and it’s that admirable spirit which Myck Kabongo has embodied. Despite the adversity he’s faced in his life, "expressing gratitude in the moment it’s happening" is the code he lives by.
Myck was born in the war torn Democratic Republic of Congo, Lu-Kasa and his family later escaped his native home and safely settled in Toronto. Myck went on to become a professional basketball player who’s travelled and competed in various countries. As he learns new languages, cultures and people of our world, Lu-Kusa carries his identity with pride and never forgets to leave his imprint as a Congolese-Canadian. These experiences, interactions and encounters are subsumed into his being and articulated through his creativity. Congrats Myck, on your new album release!!
